My name is Charlotte Speller, and I am the proud owner of Lead the Way! This is my first blog and I hope there will be many more to come of various issues in the doggy world. Animals of all types have always been and always will be my absolute passion! My family and I have always owned dogs (Shih Tzus, English Bull Terriers and Boxers) and various small domestic pets. So I couldn’t be in a better job. I have been dog walking and pet sitting for 3 years now and training for almost 5.
When I was a child it was my dream to become a vet but unfortunately that didn’t happen. I worked in many offices but was always unhappy but I learnt many different skills along the way. I left my office job and started dog walking. I now have completed Levels 2 and 3 in Canine Care Management and Training, Training and Behaviour as well as an Odin Instructors Course and Canine First Aid. And additionally, I have also obtained my Grade 2 with the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers Instructors (BIPDT). I am currently working towards my Level 5 which is an advance diploma in canine behaviour and my Kennel Club Accreditation.
Training wise I have taught pet dogs from puppies to adults but I also help train search dogs for boarder control and rescue.
My aim is to make the lives of dogs better both in the home and out of by teaching their owners how to satisfy their dogs needs physical as well as mental and giving them the skills to teach their dog to behave so that it can fit in with their day to day life. My walking allows the dogs to be exercised whilst their owner is at work so some of the dog’s physical and mental needs are met. I also house sit whilst their owners go on holiday. By keeping the dog in their usual environment it reduces stress both on the dog and owner.
I hope this has given you a little insight in to me and what I do and I hope you will be reading my blogs in the future
